5 DAYS PRIMATE SAFARI
BWINDI NATIONAL PARK AND QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK. Tour Code INS-08

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Set off for Bwindi National Park early in the morning, heading towards southwestern Uganda. The drive will take approximately 9-10 hours and takes you through the grasslands of Ankole, a common sight is the famous long-horned cattle; then to the highlands of Kigezi with their beautifully terraced hills. Have a lunch stop in Mbarara town and arrive in Bwindi  in the evening. This park is famous for the Rare Mountain gorillas and habours at least 120 animal species including chimpanzees, L’Hoest’s monkeys, red and blue tailed monkeys. Dinner and overnight at Budget - Bwindi View Bandas BB, Midrange – Buhoma Community Campground HB, Top range -Gorilla Forest Camp FB.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking - Bwindi National Park .

 After an early breakfast, Set off for gorilla trekking. The trekking is unpredictable, it is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike, the gorilla trekking may take 2-8hours depending on where the gorillas built a nest the previous night, expect to walk long distances in steep  conditions sometimes with rain overhead before you encounter any gorillas. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery that the forest and landscape has to offer. Your efforts will be rewarded when you have an encounter with the humble giants. For conservation purposes, the time spent with gorillas is one hour. Dinner and overnight at Budget - Bwindi View Bandas BB, Midrange – Buhoma community camps HB, Top range -Gorilla Forest Camp FB.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After Breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and arrive in the Afternoon. Have lunch at the lodge and relax for a while. After lunch, go for a nature walk to Maramagambo forest (Optional activity). View a variety of plant and tree species. With the same nature walk, you can view a variety of birds, butterflies and primates. Visit the bat cave and take a closer look at the bats. If lucky, you will spot the rock pythons that occasionally feed on the Bats. Alternatively we can visit the blue lakes popular for the flamingoes or drive to the scenic explosion craters. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge-top range FB, King fisher lodge kichwamba-Midrange,HB or  Hostel Mweya – Budget,BB.

 

Day Four: Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After an early morning breakfast, go for a game drive heading for the mating grounds of the Uganda Kobs. Look out for other animals like lions, Elephants, Topi, Bushbucks and Buffaloes. After Lunch, we will go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel at 15.00hrs.This is a natural channel that joins Lake Edward to Lake George. Actually this is one of your highlights for the Safari. On this cruise you will view abundant birdlife, buffaloes, Elephants and perhaps the highest concentration of Hippos in Africa. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge-top range FB, King fisher lodge kichwamba –Midrange HB or Hostel Mweya – Budget,BB.


Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park and transfer to Kampala
we shall go for the early morning game drive to catch-up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. You are likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, bushbuck, water buck, striped jackal, and warthogs. Transfer to Kampala with lunch en-route. On the way, look out for the famous long horned Ankole cattle and several Zebras in the Lake Mburo area.
Stop over at the Equator . You can take some photographs or buy some crafts /souvenirs at one of our craft shops, Classic African Art Kayabwe then proceed to Kampala.

  Gorilla permit cost USD 500 per person. please note, due to high demand you are advised to book  for your gorilla safari at least 4 (four) months.
